Description

We are a full-service fabrication and assembly facility based in New York that produces high-quality portable electrical power distribution systems, electric chain hoist control systems, weight monitoring systems, metering equipment, testing equipment, and cable assemblies. We are currently searching for a drafting engineer to assist in designing and preparing technical drawings that are used to build products. This person will be expected to contribute to our day-to-day operations with computer-aided design tasks for our electrical and mechanical components.

 

 

 

COMPENSATION

Starts at $23.55/Hour, with special consideration for candidates with a bachelor's degree and preferred professional experience.

This is a Full-time position, FLSA Non-Exempt Position.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Required Education; An associate degree of applied science in drafting or 4-Years equivalent drafting AutoCAD and 3D modeling work experience.

Preferred Education: A bachelor's degree in drafting and design or electrical engineering. Applicants with a bachelor's in mechanical engineering will be considered dependent on professional experience. 

 

EXPERIENCE

Required Experience:

· Four years of experience in a related field producing files in AutoCAD and 3D Modeling Software, we utilize Autodesk software products.

Preferred Experience.

· Proficient in Inventor

· Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical

· Proficient in electrical schematics

Responsibilities

The Drafting Engineer will produce documentation and participate in product development activities as tasked by design engineers. They will use sophisticated computer programs, such as computer-aided design (CAD) programs, to produce sketches, models, and blueprints needed to fabricate products. A drafting engineer learns all aspects of the product development process so that they can participate in the creation of 2D & 3D drawings and document component design and create bills of materials within the company’s material resources planning (MRP) system.
